Christian AIDS/HIV National Alliance (CANA)


The National Workshop on HIV and AIDS Care organized in March 1997 at New Delhi attended by Christian leaders from various parts of India representing different Christian denominations highlighted the need to mobilize the Christian community as a single cohesive unit cutting across the diverse Christian denominations to respond to HIV/AIDS in India.

  • HIV and AIDS is an issue about which the general masses are unaware about still and therefore due to this ignorance people fear the virus and People infected by HIV and AIDS.

  • Therefore the need for a website which provides adequate knowledge to people who want to know about HIV and AIDS and the deeper issues related to it.

  • Secondly, CANA has been involved in facilitation and equipping work which is an almost invisible role.
